These regulations are the SCCA Big Island of Hawaii Region’s
Supplemental Regulation to the Standard Solo Regulations and Rules

NEW - Temporary Weekend Memberships for Each
Event
The National SCCA office is now made it a requirement to be a regular
SCCA member or Temporary SCCA Weekend member for Solo events. This
requirement ensures that all participants in events are fully covered
by the event insurance policy. The Weekend SCCA Membership fee is
$5.00 per event and will be included in the entry fee for Non-SCCA
Competitors.
If you are not an SCCA Member, you may become a member by filling
out the SCCA membership form and paying the membership fee and entry
fee and the $5.00 Weekend SCCA Membership fee will not be charged.
Non-SCCA competitors who have paid the temporary Weekend SCCA Membership
fee will receive credit against the full SCCA membership fee if
application and payment is made within 60 days of the event you
had temporary Weekend Membership.
4. Registration and Entry Fees
ALL persons entering the track during an event MUST sign the SCCA
waiver form and WEAR the SCCA wristband (or a laminated SCCA membership
form). This includes persons of all ages, spectators, and workers.
This also includes persons of other clubs entering the track for
other purposes.
Drivers are encouraged to register early. Drivers registering before
the event receive a discount on their entry fee. Entry fees for
2009 are:
SCCA Member Drivers
Pre-registered $20.00
Registration at the track $25.00
NON-SCCA Drivers
Pre-registered $35.00
Registration at the track $40.00
SCCA member drivers must present their current SCCA membership card
at registration in order to receive SCCA member entry fees.
NON-SCCA drivers who sign up for SCCA membership at an event will
be charged SCCA member entry fees.
Fun runs at the end of the day are $3.00 for one or two for $5.00.
Passengers are $1.00. Please have correct change.
There will be a $15.00 fee charged for any NSF checks. Drivers must
have any delinquent fees paid before they register for an event.
The following information must be on the registration form:
Car number
Car class
Car make
Car model
Car color
Car year
Drivers must complete the first two sections on the front of the
registration form and complete and sign the first section on the
back of the registration form.
5. Semi-Annual Safety Technical Inspection
The Semi-Annual Safety Tech Inspection takes place at the first
event of the year unless other Tech Inspections are directed by
the Chief of Technical Inspection. As a participant in a Solo event,
it is your responsibility to make sure you car meets all the requirements
to pass a normal technical safety inspection.
For 2009, read Section 3.0 in the 2009 Solo Rule book, specifically section 3.3.1
through 3.3.4 in preparation for the Semi-Annual Safety Tech Inspection.
6. Car Classifications and Car Numbers
Drivers are responsible for determining their car class. The car
class will be verified at technical inspection if there are any
questions.

Drivers are responsible for providing their
own car numbers and class designations. Car numbers must be at least
8” high. Car class designations must be at least 4”
high. Drivers need two sets of numbers/class designations –
one on each side of the car. See the 2009 Solo Rule book for car number details.
7. Clothing and Equipment
Drivers and passengers must wear helmets. Helmets must be Snell
2002 approved or newer. A loaner helmet is available and is on a
first-come, first-served basis. Drivers must have closed toe shoes.
8. Run Groups and Work Schedule for
Each Event
Run Group Heats and Work Group schedule will be posted at Timing
& Scoring facility and read off at the drivers meeting. The following schedule is planned for 2009.

2009 Worker Groups for Run Heats in the Morning and Afternoon
Afternoon Run Heat 3 works for Morning Run Heat 1

All drivers must work a run group. Drivers are
assigned working groups based on the run heats they are assigned.
10. Big of Hawaii Region Solo Championship Program for 2009
If you wish to compete in the BI-SCCA Solo Championship Program
you must be a BI-SCCA Member and obtain a Solo Championship
Points Card. Participation is open to all competitors
in all car classes and will use the PAX points scheme to adjust
all classes run times using the PAX index. Therefore, all car competitors
will be competing for the overall championship win for 2009.
11. 2009 Championship Points based on PAX Times
PAX time results will be posted after the race in the Event Results
area of the Big Island of Hawaii Region website.
12. Event Officials Posted at Each Solo Event
Each event will have the Event Officials posted at the Timing &
Scoring facility so each competitor can communicate with the appropriate
stewards and officials of the Solo Event. A Protest Steward of the
Meet will be assigned at each event for competitors to lodge protests
as soon as the issue arises.
13. General Information
Drivers’ meeting and course walk are mandatory.
A maximum of 4 drivers may enter to run one car.
There is no gas, food, or drink at the track – you must bring
your own.
Remove loose objects from your car.
Bring rain gear and sunscreen.
